This great restaurant on Stagecoach Road in Santa Barbara has been a popular tavern since it was built in the 1880s as a stagecoach stop for wagons traveling the mountains to reach Santa Barbara. 

Worth the visit?

It is secluded and rustic, located in a smaller canyon in the mountains of Santa Barbara County. The Cold Spring Tavern has definitely changed a lot since the times of late 1880s when the restaurant functioned as a relay station for stagecoaches that came here to the top of the San Marcos Pass to experience a traditional Old West meal. It does host live musical performances every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday now.
